Adipurush is yet another adaptation of the Ramayanaas per the makers, and it stars Prabhas in the titular role of Adi Purush (or Ram), Kriti Sanon as Sita, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (or Ravana).

Now one would think that a grand, big-budget magnum opus like this would have great sets and cool VFX that would completely transport the audience but what the teaser presents is quite the opposite. The VFX is—and there is no tricky way to put this—terrible.

From odd Dementor-like creatures swarming Prabhas to Saif Ali Khan’s cartoonish Ravana arriving on, well, a bat-like something, and people either flying or jumping, it’s all weird, to say the least.

How people reacted to the ‘Adipurush’ trailer

Naturally, netizens have loads to say and they aren’t holding back. While some mentioned that Ayan Mukerji’s brahmastra had better VFX, others opined that Rajamouli’s treatment would’ve been better. Take a look:

As per a report by pinkvilla, the film is made on a massive budget of INR 500 crores. T-Series head Bhushan Kumar himself confirmed the news, telling the publication, “We know people will come to see it irrespective of pricing as it is a one-of-its-kind event cinema and there is only limited capacity. So, we would make sure to go all out with this film.”

The film, which will be available for viewing in Hindu, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, is slated for a theatrical release on January 12, 2023.

Will the VFX be better than what we just saw in the teaser? We sure hope so. What did you think of the Adipurush teaser? Tell us in the comments.
